I took part in an artist residency at Uzosanso villa. Mt. Uzo san is regarded as a reign or holy peak, such mountains are believed to be the home of gods and thus are centres for religious practice. This tori gate places beside Uzosan signify the boundary between this world and spiritual world. I stitched together the worlds on both sides of the gate using archived photos of the local people, who worked on the shrine or the mountain.
